"Why I Believe"
is a new study group sure to feed the hearts and minds of seekers and believers.

Is there a God?
Are miracles real?
We all wrestle with the tough questions about the core issues of human existence.

Chip Ingram offers logical, biblical insights on resurrection, life after death, the Bible, creation, and God's existence.

This study group is being held on Wednesdays 7:00 pm at the church. "Why I Believe" study guides are available from Pastor Smith for $8.

News at First Baptist

Men's Breakfast a Hit!
21 men attended the Men's Fellowship Breakfast in June. Even though the tables were filled, they still didn't run out of pancakes! The fellowship and devotion time was meaningful and the men look forward to sharing again. Men from other churches are very welcome to come to the breakfast.

Madison Association Meeting
The June 7, ABC, NYS Madison Association meeting held at Oneida, FBC was attended by eight of our members. At that meeting, Kirk "Doc" Palmer was elected Moderator of Madison Association. Doc is a member of Lebanon Federated Church.

FBC member, Fred Cazer was elected Madison Association Representative to the Board of Missions (the governing Board of the American Baptist Churches New York State). FBC members, Dan and Carole Saulsgiver represent Madison Association Churches on the "Regional Enhancement Team." Rev. Wes Smith continues to serve as Madison Association's representative o the 'Pastoral Care Team."

It was decided at the meeting that FBC Hamilton will host the Madison Association's Fall Gathering on Sunday, November 8 at 3:00 pm.

Madison Association voted to donate $500 to Vick & Pathfinder camps, and $500 to ABC, NYS.

Youth Group Activities

We have had an active youth group, with youth from our church and the community participating in several events: CROP WALK, the Birthday Bag Project for the Hamilton Food Cupboard, and fun meetings at the church. We attended Gospel Fest at Colgate Univ. Watch the calendar for upcoming youth group events.

Friday ISF Dinners
The Friday evening Fellowship Dinners are a wonderful time for the international student community. Sixty students, teaching interns and fellows from Colgate and over twenty members and friends of First Baptist Church come for food and fellowship. It is an amazing time!

Singing songs of praise, the Children's Choir and two guest voices filled the sanctuary on Children's Sunday.

Children and costumed guides learn the praise music of the day at Wilderness Adventure Vacation Bible School. It didn't take long before everyone was joyfully participating.

In the mission tent, children and the guides learned how difficult it is to get clean water in other countries.

The talented string trio also performed on Children's Sunday.

'Moses' told stories of crossing the Red Sea, and God's guidance.

The Annual Yard Sale at First Baptist Church always brings out shoppers looking for amazing bargains.

A few of the smiling faces at the 2013-14 Colgate International Student Dinner. Dinners are held every Friday at 5:30 during Colgate semesters.
